Matt Kailey, MA
Matt Kailey is a Denver-based author, speaker, writer, editor, and media personality. As an author, he has been honored with the Poets & Writers, Inc. Writers Exchange Award, judged by Anne Tyler (The Accidental Tourist), and was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award. His books have been on the local bestseller lists of the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News, and several anthologies in which his work has appeared have either received or been finalists for awards. He has also been a judge for the Lambda Literary Awards. As a speaker, he has entertained, enlightened, and educated audiences across the country, including at such well-known venues as Wesleyan University, the University of Wyoming, the University of Colorado, and the University of Denver. He has also appeared in three documentary films. Matt is the managing editor of Out Front Colorado, the oldest and most widely read GLBT publication in the Rocky Mountain region and one of the oldest GLBT publications in the country. His work has appeared in The Advocate, Instinct, Frontiers, and in many other publications, as well as online. He is a freelance writer and editor, writing and editing press releases, brochures, business correspondence, columns, educational guides, and other materials for various publications, businesses, and individuals. As a media personality, Matt has appeared on local and national radio and television, including The Maury Povich Show and Colorado Inside Out with Peter Boyles. Matt is also the Denver Transgender Issues Examiner for Examiner.com.
